    Conditional Formatting

    Here is my chart:

    Amount Paid Paid (Yes/No)
    $100 YES (color yellow)
    NO (color red)
    $400 YES (color yellow)

How do you make an if then statement, so that when the cell is blank in column "Amount Paid", it has the word "NO" and the cell is shaded red.

Then when I put any amount in the column "Amount Paid", it changes to YES and the cell is shaded yellow.

If someone could please help me with this formula, I would be much appreciative.

    Thanks!

    Re: Reasoning

    Hi,

It looks like you want Conditional Formatting. See the attached with an example. You will need to find Conditional Formatting and the rules. Also look in Col B for the formula that puts Yes or No.

    Re: Reasoning

Yes the words "YES" and "NO" are showing up appropriately.

How were you able to get the colors to show up?

    Thanks for your help!

    Re: Reasoning

How do I use a conditional formula to change the cell colors? Do I need to use the hexadecimal code?

    Re: Reasoning

No just click on "conditional formatting/highlighted cell rules/text that contains" under home and type in the word you want it to remember and your color choice.
