How To? Cells Always Fill With Certain Item from Dropdown

Is it possible to make a cell always fill with a certain item from a dropdown list?

Example:
If Numbers is selected, the possible values are One, Two and Three (in that order). A2 fills with One, B2 with Two, and C2 with Three.
If Words is selected, the possible values are Apple, Banana and Carrot (in that order). A2 fills with Apple, B2 with Banana, and C2 with Carrot.

you can probably do this by having a drop-down with the numbers or text option, and then use if() statements in A2, B2, C2, based on the selection in the drop down

Thank you again, FDibbins. Works great, but the formula will get very long very quickly.

I'm going to leave this as not solved for a little while to see if there are more efficient methods.
