    Calculating 2 processors excel 2010

Hi, i have a problem in my excel 2010
I'm doing a kind of home finance database but everytime i put something new it takes a lot of time uptading and says " calculating 2 processors".
I start search what was the problem and i read that if i go to options>advanced>formulas>Activate multi threaded and uncheck that option could solve the problem but it didn't. Now it doens't say that, it says "calculate" but it also takes a lot of time.
Any help to solve this problem?
    Thank you

    Hi

Go to your task manager and see what is hogging most of your resources, that will give you an idea how to tackle it. Also like other posts recently if you havent got a laser printer driver installed install one and use that as excel uses the printer driver to re draw the screen. Also have a look at the formula you are using and see if they can be substituted for faster less memory hungry ones.

    Good luck

I am also doing a lookup based from one tab to another on a very large scale. The process is extremely slow. I am calculating on 4 processors. What is the best way to be set up for this type of formula vlookup (6 column lookup into a 160K row 60 column spreadsheet)?
    Thank you.

    Dear All,

    Assalam o Alaikum and Hye,

I was facing the same problem, and it was very painful to wait for the calculating process completion,

But when it starts calculating and reach at 7% I just press Esc it stopped and i continued my working without any trouble and waiting.

I know its not a perfect solution, but until we find any solution please try this short cut, hope you will find it useful

    Best Wishes
