Sort column by dropdown list

Hey all, this have been my project for the day and i have failed!

I have created a dropdown list - i would like to be able to filter, based on the choice in the dropdown list. Ex if i choose apples, the list should show only apples. I know the basic filter function - but chosing form an dropdown list would be way more convient in this case. Cant get advanced filter to work and vba have absolutely owned me.
