Excel 2003 - To delete part of worksheet

I had intended to send a worksheet by email, but then changed my mind. I unfortunately clicked on 'Save the changes' so that the worksheet now has the 4 lines of the email address bars at the top of the worksheet. How do I delete those 4 lines from the worksheet and retain the rest of the worksheet intact?

    Highlight rows(1:4) and right-click, Delete.

Thankyou very much for your help. However I do not know how to highlight the 4 blank lines - I could highlight text if there was any, but how to delete the email part?

I highlight rows by clicking on the row numbers.

Thankyou again. Unfortunately there are no row numbers on the address bars at the top of an email.

THere are no URL address bars in Excel, normally, either. I guess I'm not grasping what has happened to your workbook. You could post it and we can take a look. Click GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to post up a copy of your workbook.

Course program Burwood.xlsI hope I have managed to attach a copy of the worksheet with the email lines at the beginning. Please let me know if you receive it successfully and what you think I can do to remove them.

Using Keyboard , Place the cursor in any cell of the start row of deletion row and Press Shift+Space bar. Now the first deletion row will get selected and again press shift and hold it. At the same time press down arrow to extend the selection to the below rows and press Ctrl + - to delete the selected rows.

Re: Excel 2003 - To delete part of worksheet

Thankyou very much for your help. However I have now tried your solution but it does not work. There is no cell into which I can place the cursor, because the 4 lines of the address bars in email do not have any cells. Those 4 lines are attached at the top of the worksheet and I don't know how to highlight them so as to delete them.

The workbook you attached does not have these lines, so the problem must be installed into your actual instance of Excel. Perhaps post a screenshot might give a hint.

Once again thanks for your persistence. I have now sent you an email with the problem worksheet attached. Hope this is what you meant.

The workbook has already been examined. It doesn't have those lines. Something is up with your Excel installation.

Did you receive my email and did the workbook attached to the email have those 4 lines?
    Thanks.

We post worksheets here in the forum. It is expected you would replace confidential data with random junk to make it safe to work on publicly. The forum is used by others as a research tool, so the workbooks serve as examples to all.

I downloaded the file from post #7, it's the same one you emailed. The problem is in your Excel, not the file.

You can post a picture, a screenshot, maybe someone will realize what we're seeing if we see what you are.

Re: Excel 2003 - To delete part of worksheet

Thankyou again for your help, but I think I have found another way around the problem. I have a copy of the worksheet on a memory stick, so I will use that.
