    Excel and Sharepoint

    Hello,
I am in the process of creating a dashboard and kpi for a company with different LOB's. Currently maintaining a workbook with complicated spreadsheets. Each LOB worksheet is keyed by their representative resulting in wrongful deletion or alteration of formula's.links and lookups.
My goal is to create a data entry form for each LOB to key their numbers that way eliminating any errors on the main workbook. I would also like to convert the sheets into simple data so that I can upload it into sharepoint where by I can create dashboard and kpi for different LOB.
I was wondering if Infopath can be used to create form that will input data into excel spreadsheet.I was also looking for solutions to create simple data as excel services in sharepoint is not compatible with formats, macros etc.
Please any advice or suggestions is more than welcomed.

    Thanks

    Roger

If you create the forms on your computer, you can then host them on sharepoint. If you then open both the form and the desired location for the data from sharepoint, you can reference the cells which will grab the data from the form on sharepoint. You can use the online location in the same way as a filepath on your computer.

    For example:

In the past month i have hosted our budgets onto sharepoint. Each of our branches has to submit a weekly report using a template, which is now hosted online. When they go onto the sheet, they update the links and it pulls the budget data for the respective branch from its sharepoint location.

We then have a group report which is now also hosted online, which pulls the data from each individual sites reports.

    Re: Excel and Sharepoint

Are you using infopath form or just created a input form in excel. My second question is are you capturing data in a list in sharepoint or in a excel worksheet.
Please is it possible for you to share some more insight as to how I should approach building this form that would be really helpful.
