How to lock/protect some cell in worksheet?

If anyone please kindly advise me how to lock or protect some area of cells in worksheet.

As I have set formula in some cells and I don't want user to edit or delete in that cell.

But user still can fill in data in other cells , which they can edit or delete by themselves.

I have attached excel file as link below.

    120224_How to Lock cell_ENG.xlsx

It would be pleasured if anyone can instruct me how to do it ? ^___^

    THANKS A LOT in Advance

it is easy to protect or lock some cell on a sheet if you set the properties for cells is clocked and set password for Allow Users to Edit Ranges item.

hi wrblee. select the entire worksheet first by pressing CTRL + A or click on the box on the left of Column A & on top on row 1. press CTRL + 1 to go to Format Cells. go to the tab "Protection". Uncheck the "Locked". press OK.

now select only those you want to lock (i.e. those in yellow. J1:Y5 & T18:Z25). again, CTRL + 1 & go to the tab "Protection". Check back the "Locked".

Now, right-click the Sheet "ENG" & Protect Sheet. only those you did in Step 2 will be locked

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
