How to have excel count colored font?

My apologies if this topic is elsewhere.

I'm trying to set up a spreadsheet for weekly college football pick 'ems. Is there a way to have excel count the total number of correct answers that are in green font? I've attached a snapshot of what i've got so far.

I'm decent with excel and completely new to VBA, any help would be great appreciated.

excel 2003 cannot count by color without using VBA. what is the basis for the colors? maybe that can be used for the count?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

I actually have excel 2010, not sure why my profile said 2003. The reason for the colors is to distiguish between right and wrong. Wrong is red and right is green. With 35 picks it seems it would be easier to have excel count the correct picks or the green ones. I guess i could just use the old method of pen and paper. And I'm ok with having to learn and use VBA, it seems like a very useful tool. thanks.

While this tutorial is about sorting by colors, you can use the concept to count.

    http://www.datapigtechnologies.com/f...rtonColor.html

This obviously applies to Excel versions earlier than 2007. I am sure you can get what you need from this video.

I have a 2010 version but could only see that you can sort on colors. I did not see where you could count on colors, but using the concept in the video, you can count based upon the same strategy shown for sorting.

    Hi jkskates,

The cells have conditional formatting and the color index is 10 for green - but that's as far as I've gotten.

At the moment my mind is blank - I've been trying to crack this unexpectedly convoluted problem, but I can guarantee no solution since Formula1 is always green?????????
