sumproduct issue with blanks

hello

i have the formula that appears to be counting the wrong data, not sure how to fix it.

here is my formula
=SUMPRODUCT(--(INDEX(_Data,0,5)=$C13),--(INDEX(_Data,0,1)=$D$8),(INDEX(_Data,0,(AV$9-2))="")+(INDEX(_Data,0,(AV$9-2))=$D$6))

basically, im asking it to filter by
1) date
2) name of person
3) count blanks
4) count "-"

the date of december has no data in range AV9 minus 2.....however it is showing 31 as my answer.


it should really say "0" as december has no service at all.

can someone pls help...been stuck ont his for a couple of hours. thx u

i know my formula is asking to count "blanks"....but the range for december contains nothing....so i want to be to blank.

any if statement i can imbed to make the process easy?

i.e. if (range "december" is blank then 0, sumprod formula)?

if so...how can i make the formual calculate if (range december = blank)?
