Formula to Rank and populate values base don Rank

Please look in the attached file and please advise a formula to rank the values and to populate figures based on the rank.

for ranking in descending order. And

for ascending order. The subtotal in B14 must not be there for this formula to rank correctly.

I dont understand the payout concept. I can try it, if you elaborate it more.

I added the sorting functions (ascending and descending) as well as the payout formulas... let me know if this is what you are looking for (see attached file).

- I created a named range called 'RankColumn' that includes cells A2:A12,A16:A17. Just in case you were wondering.
