    Fantasy Basketball Database HELP!!!

    Greetings,

So I know what I want this database to do, can be done. I just need some help.

So the draft tab is my player database. It crunches all the numbers and I want it to be my only place I have to enter numbers.

As you will notice, I want to be able to run multiple leagues on this one document. There are tabs for league 1, league 2, etc. I didn't change league 1 and 2 yet, because I haven't ever done this.

    *What I want!!*

I want to be able to enter a players name in Sheet 2 (League 1) and have it recognize the name and draw the data from the main database (Draft).

Example: I want to be able to enter Kobe Bryant on League 1, Team 1 and have it pull the data from the database.

Does this make sense? I would love any help!!

    Hi

Let's see if i understand well your goal.

IF, always exist eatch name in your Draft sheet, ONCE, as your example, then in your other sheet, put in A1 the Name that you are looking for.

Then in A3 and copy across the other columns, put this.

    =INDEX(Draft!A$5:A$1000,MATCH($A$1,Draft!$A$5:$A$1000,0))

Is this what are you looking for?
    Regards

    Fotis.

Well, I'm not quite sure that is what I'm looking for.

So, as the season progresses, the numbers in the database (draft) will change. Also, the players on each team will change as players get traded. So for instance, I want to be able to type in Kobe Bryant on the second tab and have it pull the raw data from the first tab (draft). This would allow me to update the first tab (draft) with updated statistics thus updating the second and third tabs (multiple leagues) at the same time.

    This is my example.

If this is not working for you, then if you like, put manually the result that you expect in the sample workbook and show to us.

Is there a way to just type in the players name instead of using the drop down tool?

Yes. Just cancel the data validation list.

Not quite sure what that means. Also, in the "test" document you posted, the original draft tab is now minimized. I need to be able to see all players on that tab so I can frequently update the numbers.

So on League 1 or League 2, I want to be able to type any players name that is in the draft database, and have it reflect the information that is in the draft tab. Ultimately, there will be roughly 90-110 players typed in each league, down the list.

In the first sheet i just used the Auto Filter option, just to test if one player appears more than once...If you don't need, then just cancell it...

    Look the example again.

This example looks great! How do you implement that "test" so you can use it multiple times on multiple tabs?

Still confused. I still don't understand how you would enter multiple names on each sheet without previous name changing.

So how would you copy and paste the "Kobe Bryant" formula, type another players name in, and still have Kobe's information from the previous "post"
