Hello,

I am no expert in excel and need help helping another person with a problem. When he opens a certain spreadsheet with links to other spreadsheets, he gets the following message:

I have had him do the following:
Go to the file tab, then Options, then Advanced, scroll down to the General heading and uncheck "Ask to update automatic links."

He says the messages are still coming up.

I have also been told to have him try the following:

Clear the prompt message.
Click on the data tab at top of worksheet.
Click on "edit links"
Click on "Startup Prompt" button
Select "Don't display the alert and update links" OK

Can you tell me if following these steps will have any effect on the report pulling data in from other spreadsheets please?
