EXCEL formatting issue

Having issues with formatting where I have re-saved older workbooks that were created in Excel 97-2003, but re-saved in Excel 2010.
I'm thinking this may be the problem.
I work in the sheet, save it, and when I re-open - my work is saved properly, but the formatting is junked.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I cannot send you the file.
Too much proprietary info on it.
I can tell you... I'm losing fonts (they are defaulting back to courier).
Lines and colors are disappearing.
