    Compare tables in Excel

    Hello everyone!

I have two tables with the same numbers and the discounts they go with. I have to check if every number in the two sheets has same discounts or if not where are the differences.

Give me some advice how can I do this type of check up :P

    Re: Compare tables in Excel

If the cells are essentially the same between Tables, ie sorted identically, you could compare Cell "A" in Table 1 with Cell "A" in Table 2 and flag those that are not the same either using CONDITIONAL FORMATTING
    ==============
Assuming the "numbers" and discounts are in different columns in Table 1 and Table 2 and Table 1 and Table 2 are or are not sorted, you could use VLOOKUP or MATCH and INDEX to flag the differences. This could be done using a "helper" column or CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

A sample file would be useful

When you have two large tables of data in an Excel Workbook you may need to compare the tables to try and spot the differences. Below we will look at two very easy ways this can be done which will save you hours of manual work.

    Best wishes,
    Kynthia

    Hi

Sandra, for me is not clear at all what are you trying to archieve.

In eatch sheet you have many times the same number(example:0882720769) with different discount ID...

Can you put manually some expected results and show to us, explainig why?
    Regards

    Fotis.

    Re: Compare tables in Excel

I made an example for one number 0885135558 in the sheet"Example_result". I want to compare the discounts in the two sheets and show with yes/no in third table the numbers from "New discounts" if we have the same discounts in "New discounts". Besides, the numbers don't match in each cell from the sheets and I want to show message "No number found" if the number is missing in "Real Discounts".

I am afraid, your answer is not correct. What error? What you mean "does not work"?
