Find Max Alpha Grade for Students

I am new to this so would really appreciate any assistance.

As you can see from the attached spreadsheet I need to find the highest grade for each student. The grades are A* to G (A* being the highest)

{=char(mina(code(B2:e2)))}

The abovementioned formula will work but not when there are blank cells. How do I fix this formula to ignore blank cells and still return the highest grade please?

Thank you - this works but doesn't update if values are changed in the cells. Is there a way to do this please?

I have changed MIN to MINA in the code and remembered to use Ctrl+Shift +Enter and it works like a charm.
