    Link Stop formula

    Hi,

I have lots of formula in 1 sheet which is linked with another sheet in same file.

Whenever i update 2nd sheet in which data is there, it hangs always due to lots of formula in sheet1.

can i stop this automatic linking and use any option in excel to link manually.

so that after updation data in 2nd sheet, i use that option to link.

    Re: Link Stop formula

Maybe you can put recalculate on manual.

    Excel 2007 => formula => calculate
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

    Hi Amit,

You can put the calculation to manual mode... and press Shift + F9 to calculate just the current worksheet and then calculation update will not happen for entire workbook. thanks.

    Re: Link Stop formula

    or

can i stop this automatic linking and use any option in excel to link manually
Or you can go to File-option-advanced-scroll down look for when calculating this workbook ="Update links to other workbook" untick it.

then just below that under general tick the "Ask to update automatic links"

Then you can do a manual update link -go to Data menu- external links - edit links - udpate

    Re: Link Stop formula

This is just a switching on / off of auto calculation mode... do you need button for this ?
I guess you can use the shortcut keys (hot keys) :-

    To activate manual mode:-

    Alt + t + o
    down arrow
    Alt + M
    Enter

    to activate auto calc mode:-

    Alt + t + o
    down arrow
Alt + A (only this step changes)
    Enter
