    Index Match to date

    [SOLVED]

    Hi,

Need help using the Index combined with Match function.
My problem is I have to type the date in the general format for the formula to work, if I type in 8/28/2012, it will give me N/A.
Please see attachment for better explanation.

Is there a solution? thanks a lot

    Re: Index Match to date

Try using MATCH(DATEVALUE("8/28/2012" in your formula - that should do it.

Incidentally, with a match formula it would be more usual to set your index range to B2:D3, your first match range to A2:A3 and your second to B1:D1.

    Re: Index Match to date

    Hi,

    maybe

    =INDEX(B2:D3,MATCH(DATE(2012,8,28),A2:A3,0),MATCH(DATE(2012,1,3),B1:D1,0))

    Hope that helps
