Counting a column of numbers based on a unique identifier

I have data presented in a matrix. I want to have a summary page that analyzes that data. On the Data tab, where the student name and class intersect, I input the period in which a student will take a class. On the analysis tab, I want to know how many classes a particular student has taken. See the attached example. Thanks for any help!!
