formulas not copying correctly

I'm sure this is a very easy something to fix but I'm completely stumped. I've entered a formula into a cell, let's say C3. I've used the fill handle to copy that formula into the cells below it and what shows up is the answer to C3. I am able to double click on the cell D3 and push enter and the correct answer comes up, but from what I've seen in the tutorials I've watched the correct answer to the formula should appear when I use the the fill handle. I've also tried to copy and paste and still all that shows up is the original answer, not the correct answer. What do I need to do??

excel 2007 => formula => "calculation" is on manualy?
