    How to protect a cell

How do you edit a cell to make it protected from accidental damage or deletion?

Re: How to protect a cell

With the cell selected, right-click and choose Format Cells | Protection tab and ensure that Locked is checked, then OK. This is the default setting in Excel and will apply to all cells unless it is changed here.

Then click on the Review tab and Protect Sheet and then click against the items listed that you want the User to be able to do, decide if you want to set a password (in which case you will be asked to confirm it by typing it again), then click OK.

    Hope this helps.

I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.
