Hi,
In short I have just got access to a large data set, that covers a range of sports data for a series of games and I am looking at grouping the game data into data for each player based on the season using sumifs (the concept works for what I want to use it for - but there may be a more elegant way of doing it).
I have edited the data down heavily to post here (original file was 14+ megs) to illustrate what I am trying to do. As each player has a player ID I can key that as the criteria in the sumif and reference the range as column B (on sheet 1). Sheet 1 contains the data from the games, I filtered all of the players out to get each unique individual player and ID and I was looking at summing it together on sheet 2.
In short the sumif formulas in columns E and F on sheet 2 (highlighted yellow) do what I need (and want to do), but is there a quick way of changing the sum_range values of the sumif (apart from doing it manually every time I copy the formula to a new column - e.g. so it references the right column on sheet 1)? In the full un-edited down sheet there are over 200 variables so it will be a lot of work (which I don't mind doing but if there is a built in function that I can take advantage of, it would speed things up a bit).
Thanks in advance for any nudges in the right direction,
