    substitution of Values

    Hii,

    Please find the attached file..

    what is my requirement is when i type on "A2:A10" as "1" it should give me the
    result RMG-1 and "2" for RMG-26,like that as of table D17:E23 and on the next column "B2:B10" A for Adv Lds,
    B for Mov etc as from table G17:H21,b'coz i have a long validation list which i don't like to open and
    scroll till the end and select the values..is there anyway to do like that..

    Hoping for a result..

    Consider using a helper column for each and using a Vlookup to populate your requirements.

    Else you need Find+Replace code in VBA.

    See Input Columns A & D.

    The INDEX and MATCH will populate columns B & C

    Thanks Ace,This one is fine for me..the one which i have asked is too much for excel it can be done through only VB i believe..

    Unfortunately yes, since you are trying to have a value formulated based on an input in the same cell
