conditional format a blank cell
Excel 2007: In cells that contain a formula, but is currently blank (has not yet returned a number based on the formula) I wish to set a conditional format that highlights the cell a particular color. I find I cannot use the “blank” conditional format function because there is a formula in the cell. Thank you for your assistance. Regards, Gary

What does the formula return?
Maybe...
If 0 >> then =A1=0
If blank >> then >> =LEN(A1)=0

The formula has not returned anything yet. As soon as the formula generates a number the cell now is set to highlight in a green. I wish the cell to highlight red while it is still void of a number, and then turn green when a number is generated. The formula is waiting for monthly inputs, while it waits I want the cell to be red. How do I set a conditional format that sees a cell with a formula but is presently blank?
So if the cell is currently blank then within the formula you must have set it to ""
If so then the =Len(A1)=0 should work
Did you try =A1=0 >> format red and then for a number, =A1>0 >> format green
