    Are those annual interest rates?
    Is interest calculated daily?

ETA: Is interest paid monthly or annually?

Re: need formula for tiered interest in excel???

I've played with the file day92 uploaded, using an approximate VLOOKUP.

The table assumes that the rates you quoted are annual rates, the interest is calculated daily, and interest is paid annually.

The 'Interest' column shows the amount of interest earned during the period between the date on the row above and the date on its row (e.g. the first interest amount in D3 is the amount earned on the balance of $6000 between 30th June and 7th July).

Re: need formula for tiered interest in excel???

katrinagidoc, i have reused @day92's file and recreated the scenarios and results using a different, lighter formula. the layout of data and resultant numbers are different. i would recommend that you run the numbers through some financial common sense and determine what should the actual results be.

UPDATE: i saw @GazP's submission and realised that you have deposits as well as withdrawals intermingled. i have updated the file with that aspect, too.

CSE, aka Array aka { }, formulae are confirmed with CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Replace commas ( , ) with semicolons ( ; ) in formulae, if your locale setting demands.
All good ideas are courtesy resources from this forum as well as others around the web.
