    List Box problem

    Dear Expert,

First time to try Listbox. Please bear with me if it is stupid question.

Search the Web and would like to get some information.
Found this and donwload the file.

    http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal10.html
    (Very much appreciated)

Slightly modified that so that it could fit my need.

However, no matter how hard I tried .... I cannot go into the properties to change the data row.
Now datarow can be up to 12 only. I would like to get the data up to 66.

I followed its instruction and everytime I clicked the properties button.
It showed Sheet properties rather than Listbox properties.

I would like to add "Date" listbox to get data from Column N.
As said, cannot go into properties and it is hard to make it too.

Hope expert can advise and help.

    Thanks indeed.

    Re: List Box problem

hi eltonlaw, a little confused by your requests & file.

    1. A listbox shows more than 1 item in a box without selecting. A validation list is a dropdown within the cell. a combobox is a dropdown you can place anywhere in the worksheet.

    2. the file you uploaded shows a validation list. if you want C2 to have the 66 items in Column L, go to Data -> Data Validation -> Source:
    =$L$2:$L$67

    3. if you need a combo box, you need to have a Developer tab on. go to the Office button -> Options -> Check the Show Developer tab. then go to the Developer tab -> Insert -> Combo Box (Form Control). right-click the combo box -> Format Control -> Input Range:
    $L$2:$L$67
    Cell Link:
can be any unfilled cell (let's say you put at P1). when you select "CAD- Nostro Banker", P1 will show "2" because it's the 2nd selection from the list. this helps you to build a formula if you need one

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
