Counting Cells of a Certain Colour

Hi All

I need some help figuring out how to count cells of a certain colour that contain a certain word. See attached

So in the attached, I would like a forumlar that will tell me how may cells in column A are i) Bat and ii) Red

Any help you could give me would be great!

you could click Data on the Ribbon and click filter on the column you need, then you can filter via colour and then word and it will tell you how many there is. if you want me to ammend your s/s then i can to show you.

Bob Phillips shows on his website how you can set things up to enable you to count by colour:

Excel does not provide this facility natively.

To count the number of bats, you can use this formula:

=COUNTIF(A1:A8,"Bat")
