    change cell colour when date expires

    i know i have to do it in conditional formating but what do i have to write to make cell colour change red when the date has expired???.

    Try something like

    =AND(A1<>"",A1<TODAY())

    where A1 is top/left most cell (or only cell) you selected to format with date in it...
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
