edit 1 link, and it prompts me to edit another link, over and over and over...

Im sure the 2 references mix here and there... but what is going on!

I dont know how well I can explain it, other than to say, I go to change the source on 1 link, easy enough. While that should be the end of it, it pops up to change the source of another file, if I point it in the right direction, it asks again... and again... and again. Im not sure if its asking individually for every instance of that link in the workbook, or if its an endless loop.

I dont know why its even asking to change the source!

    anyone ever dealt with this?

Are you using the Edit>Links>Change Source option. Do not know the exact path in 2007 and the later version, however you can try the shortcut ALT+E+K to reach the Edit Link dialog.

This option should allow you to transfer your links from a particular source to another source.

The other trick that I would commonly use is to Find-Replace to change the "[...]" part of the link formula with the new "[...]", but that would depend upon the kind of change that you want to make to the links
