How to turn certain cells green

I have a file (that is attached) that contains rows of dimensions, and some of them contain an asterisk at the end. I was looking for a way to turn just the cells with the asterisk at the end green, so I tried conditional formatting for cells ending in "*" to have a fill color of green but that didn't seem to work right as none of them turned green. Is there another way to accomplish this?

Your way worked for me, did you use a * and not a "*" ?

I used "*", should I have used just a *?

Yes just remove the quotes and it should work fine

In cell D2 try the following formula for the conditional formatting.

=RIGHT(D2,1)="*"

Apply the desired formatting
Then copy and paste special (formats) to the remaining cells.

This should work when the last character in the cell is an asterisk (*).
