Excel 2007 : Different Actions from variable numbers in a Cell

Hello first Post

I have a cell which has different % values init depending on what is entered. From this i am looking to enter a score in another cell E.g


IF A1 = 50% or less A2 = 1
IF A1 = 51% - 60% A2 = 2
IF A1 = 61% - 70% A2 = 3
IF A1 = 71% - 80% A2 = 4

And so on .....

Any ideas people ??

Hi whitywhit,

Have a quick look at the forum rules. There is one regarding using "descriptive post titles".
You will not get an answer until you change your title so something more suitable as we're not allowed to give help until the rules are met.

Not a problem. Just, like I said, we're not allowed to help until the title fits the bill.

Anyway, have a look at the attached.
It uses a simple lookup to achieve the result.

It could be done using a formula only, but that would be a long winded way around it and harder to maintain in the future.

The lookup table can be hidden away in the spreadsheet to keep it out of the way.

Let me know if you need it explained in more detail.

Here's the method:

New quick method:
Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.

Or you can use this way:

How to mark a thread Solved
Go to the first post
Click edit
Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
Click Save

I'm trying to apply the same but within times. (hh:mm:ss) But it doesn't seem to like it eg

If A1 = 00.06.00 then A2 = 1
If A1 = 00.05.30 then A2 = 2
If A1 = 00.05.00 then A2 = 3

And do on

Put the times in order so the earliest on is at the top of the list and the latest at the bottom.

Does that fix it?
