thanx for the help James and TMS.. But now rather than using macro i have used indirect validation.. But now my problem is that i can not copy the cells with indirect reference from one worksheet to another..

in cell A1 i have used source "Code".. which is the list of codes
in cell A2 i have used indirect validation.. i.e. INDIRECT(A1)
Similarly in A3 i used validation giving source INDIRECT(A2)
Finally in cell A4 i used source as INDIRECT(A3)

Now i want to copy these 4 cells from one worksheet to another.. They work in the worksheet where the data is present but does not work in any other worksheet..
