    excel 2010 calculation

Hi I am new to the forums so sorry if this is in the wrong thread. I have a question I am trying to see if there is a way to basically make a cell a calculator by getting it to add numbers that I put in it. For example if cell b3 has the value of 20 if I could add 20 to it and make it 40 now. I know how to do simple formulas like adding b3 and b4 together but I want just a cell for this alone. thank you for your help.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

If you want to input the number in the same cell as the result then it will require a user-defined function or a change event (both requiring vba). Would this suffice your needs?

    You could just input
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =20+20

EDIT: ...or follow up on abousetta's suggestion...
