    Excel format issue

    Hi,

I am trying to convert one table into a different format but have had no luck and got the end of my knowledge on how is the easiest way to do this. I think it would be easier to just show rather than try (and probably fail) to explain in a long winded manner. I have attached a file but effectively I am trying to find a way of converting the table on tab A into the format of tab B in a quick and easy manner. This is just an example the real data will have hundreds/thousands of lines in so don't fancy doing it manually.

If any one can help that would be really appreciated...

    Regards,

I presume you intend to pull up values based on month and Option in column A of SheetA.

    Try using the below

=INDEX(A!$A:$GH,MATCH(B2,A!A:A,0),MATCH(A2,A!1:1,0)) in Cell C3 of SheetB and drag down all the way!
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!

    Hi Tony,

Not sure if its the easiest way but you could create a transpose array formula for each column. Check out the formula in cells A30 and A31. To enter an array formula you need to enter it using ctr+shift+return. My own knowledge would limit me to having to creat a seperate formula for each column as the formla does not increment correctly when copied.

Hi guys thanks for the replies, I have realised that the way I presented the question wasn't quite as I intended, the attached file shows it a bit clearer, hopefully it makes sense and again it is from the top table to the bottom one.Excel test v2.xlsx
