Separating large amounts of texts to columns in a simple manner

    Hey Everybody,

I need a method to separate large groups of text separated in a single cell by a semicolon and single, into individuals columns. Each semicolon/space denotes a separate necessary column. I understand there is arae formulas LEFT RIGHT etc., but for cells with 45 groups that is simply too much. If anybody has any suggestions (including Text to Column which for some reason did not work perhaps you can explain how it works a little better), I'd be ever so grateful. Thanks

You say you tried Text to Columns but it didn't work, perhaps because you don't know how to do it right? Based on your description, it should work okay. Select the column with your data, click the Text to Columns button, choose "delimited", then check the boxes next to semicolon and space. That should do it.
