    Help with Conditional Formatting Please

    Hello

    I have a problem with conditional formatting which I would really like some help with please. I have a training spread sheet that I record the dates various training was undertaken. What I would like is for the background colour to change two months prior to the annual expiry date and change to a different colour should the training period expire. When the training refresher has been undertaken I would like the cell to remain in its original state. Can someone offer some advice please?
    Incidentally the spread sheet was originally produced using Excel 2003. I intend to introduce this conditional formatting using Excel 2010.
    Thanks in anticipation

    Re: Help with Conditional Formatting Please

    How about you convert all those 'text dates' to actual dates.

    Then for rule #1: =AND(ISNUMBER(A4),A4<TODAY())
    For rule #2: =AND(ISNUMBER(A4),EDATE(A4,-2)<TODAY())

    Hi Cutter. Thanks for your speedy reply, unfortunately I feel I am doing something wrong, I changed all the "text dates" to actual dates and selected the entire spread sheet before applying the conditional formatting. I cannot get it to work as I intended, as described in my opening post. Can you offer any further advice please?

    Re: Help with Conditional Formatting Please

    Here you go. I've adjusted the range used for one of the rules you had, and changed the priority.

    You'll see that you still have a few unconverted 'dates'.

    EDIT: Attachment removed at request of OP
