Help Separating part of a cell into a new column

    Hello,

I have a fun one that I would love some help with. Currently my sheet looks like this:

    Column A

    World Leader
    Obama (usa)
    Blair (England)
    Churchill (Englad)
    Chirac (France)

I need a formula that will take the country in parenthesis and move it to the adjacent column next to the world leader's name. For example:

    Column A Column B
    World Leader Country
    Obama usa
    Blair England
    Churchill England
    Chirac France

I have over 1000 historical leaders in my sheet. Any help is super-appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Help with world leader question--fun one

You cannot change part of a cell with a formula, however you can create two formulas to get your results:

    In B2 (World Leader):

    in C2 (Country)
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Of course if you want to write VBA to separate the data, then you can change the existing column A.
