auto add up numbers automatically when new values are entered-and freezing rows

Okay y'all, I'm very inexperienced with excel, so if you could give me a very basic explination that would be excellent. I'm making a spreadsheet to record the errors certain employees make. When i enter how many errors the employee makes, I would like the program to automatically update a coloum with the totals. The numbers are all just in one coloum. How do I do this?
Also, I was the entire row of totals to stay frozen in one place when i scroll throughout the spreadsheet-i already have one row frozen at the top but i wasnt sure how to freeze another (on the bottom of the spreadsheet if at all possilbe.)
Please, like i said, very inexperienced, please walk me step by step if you can!!

Hello Eliza,

1. To add up all the rows in one column, go to the bottom of your dataset and enter a SUM function. This may be =SUM(B2:B100) if the column you want to add is B and the bottom of your dataset is row 99.
2. You can't freeze a totals row at the bottom of the screen. Maybe put the total row at the top of screen within the frozen section of your workbook.
