Angry Can't insert new worksheet in Excel 2007

The "insert new worksheet" option is greyed out. There was worksheet protection on the first worksheet (roughly 30+ worksheets in this workbook), but that was removed. No sign that the workbook is protected either.

Can't create a new worksheet via Pivot table creation, and the "Move/Copy" option is greyed out on all worksheets.

No macros are being run as far as I can tell.

Simply no idea why I can't add a new worksheet?

There is a limit by available memory on how many worksheets you may have in a workbook.

if you have complex functions it will definitely increase the size of file as well as processing time.
its better to keep the formula in the first row and convert the rest of the row containing function to values.
as and when u want to update the sheet simple drill down the function from top most row containing formula.
this will reduce the processing time as well as file size.

Do you have any idea how to figure out what that limit is? I'm surprised because I'm sure we have much larger files, with more worksheets, and more formulae.

Each worksheet contains a very small table. Barely 50-100 rows each. And most don't even contain formula. Other workbooks that are similar have no problem, so don't think it's an issue of processing power.
