    Drop Down List Purgatory

Ok....let me see if I can do this justice......

I have a cell B3. B3 is a drop down list of customer names. If i select Customer A in cell B3, i want the drop down list in cell B7 to limit itself to just the products owned by the customer in cell B3. If the customer changes I want the drop down list in cell B7 to refresh itself so that it only shows the products owned by the new customer shown in B3.

Do I use VLOOKUP? Do I use INDIRECT? Do need massive ref tables in the background?

After that I have the following problem........

Cell B14 is for a specific equipment code. Example: GGADPI. Now this code has sub parts: System, Component Group, and Component and they have their own values. If I select the code GGADPI in cell B14, how do I get cells B15, B16, and B17 to automatically pull up the correct associated System and Component. I have all of the data on a separate tab at the moment:

Equipment Code System Component Group Component
GGADBR007 Aero Engine Accessory Drive Inlet Gearbox Bearings
GGADBR017 Aero Engine Accessory Drive Transfer Gearbox Bearings
GGADBR027 Aero Engine Accessory Drive Accessory Gear Box Bearings
GGADBR037 Aero Engine Accessory Drive Gearshaft Ball Bearings

    Re: Drop Down List Purgatory

I havent figured this one out yet. Couple problems encountered....

    1. I am trying to pull from the master list, so I get duplicates. How do i limit that? Look at the system pulldown.
    2. I can have the same system in different major systems. Same for components.
    3. Is this to large for excel to handle?

    Rapacious,

Attached is a modified version of your posted workbook. It uses a bit more complex methodolgy than the link I gave you in order to provide the unique lists of dependent drop downs. Is something like that what you're looking for?
