Excel will let you select both Wrap Text and Shrink to fit in one cell but it doesn't seem to work.
Can you format a cell so it starts wrapping the text and if it runs out of room in the cell it reduces the font size to "shrink to fit"?

I don't believe so. In 2010, if you select Wrap Text, shrink to fit is disabled.
Everyone who confuses correlation and causation ends up dead.
romperstomper: In Excel 2010, if you select shrink to fit first you can select wrap text also.
Yes but as soon as you select Wrap Text, Shrink to Fit is disabled.
Shrink to Fits seems to be disabled but the checkmark is still there. Isn't that strange?

I assume it is not possible to have cell wrap on and decrease the font size as needed based on the text (ie word wrap with shrink to fit). Is it possible via VBA?

How do you make the row height increase automatically as needed based on the text in the wrapped cell?
I assume that's so that if you change your mind, unchecking Wrap Text puts Shrink to fit back on.
In my experience doing anything with font sizes in VBA is a real pain, unless you are using a fixed width font (when it's just a pain). The autofit should work naturally unless you have a lot of text or merged cells (which are even worse to work with in VBA)
