Excel 2007 : Text in graphs changing colour randomly

Hello,

I have a problem with text colour in files - the text in graphs (axes, titles, legends) changes colour regularly. They are all black, but sometimes I open the file and some (not all, there doesn't seem to be a pattern) are green, or even purple.

Several of us work with the same files, and on one day I will have black text where my colleague will have green text. The next day I will see green, she will see black in the same file (using different computers of course).

We use Excel 2007 but the files are in compatibility mode as they are old Excel 2003 files.

Has anyone come across this before/have any idea what a fix could be? I have manually changed the text back to black a couple of times but there are 60+ graphs so it is very time consuming!

Its probably that the colour indexes changed in the version of excel. 2003 has only 56 colours but 2007 has bilions.

If you built it in 2003 then the 2007 should pick up the colour, but if you have edited the colours in 2007 when you save you will get a Minor loss of fidelity warning, then when it opens in 2003 it will revert to the closest of the 56 colours it can find in the colour pallet. Try recording a macro while you change the colours on a machine supporting 2003. Then use the macro to apply to all of your charts. 2007 should be able to pick up the 2003 colour scheme (but not the other way round).
