    Vlookup help

I have a sheet with a lot of projects where employees basically add costs and rev every time they occur. Is there a function that I can use to add up the costs to another cell. So a function that adds up -571,-4413,-541 in the image below

    Thank you in advance

    Thanks
But I have a bunch of projects listed one after another, and its a different number of entries everytime
I am trying to summarize it on another sheet, so i need a general function that will look up the project number, and then add up the costs

    Hello, Welcome to the forum!

Can you please attach an excel workbook, rather than a picture, with your expected results?

    Re: Vlookup help

If you can attach a picture, follow the same steps to attach a file

In the bottom click on Go Advanced, then bottom Manage Attachments, top right side Add Files, then Select Files browse files & upload. then after right bottom click on Done, then submit reply

    Sample.xlsx

    Thanks!
So basically, sum of the colored boxes are supposed to go to the same colored box in the expected results.
I want a function that I can just put in the boxes for project number 1 and drag it down for future projects. Is this possible with the vlookup function or do i need something more complicated?

    Re: Vlookup help

If you can change your data layout as like in the attached, you can easily calculate it through formula or Pivot Table. Also easy for data entry. It doesn't have to be grouped together.
