Is there a way to count how many files are in a folder without using VBA?

I can create a hyperlink in excel to link to a folder such as this:

Is there a way to show in a cell how many files are in a folder? This is what the code above shows: S:\Pictures\Dakota Systems, Inc.\35166 R01*02\

Before the last part, which is: 35166 R01*02 Photos

Is it possible, or am I stuck with using VBA?
