Question Conditional Formatting

Hello,

Ok so I am trying to highlight specific cells across 2 worksheets with the possibility of going upto 3 worksheets.

The range of sheet one is =$C$9:$C$30,$C$184:$C$205,$C$359:$C$380,$C$534:$C$555,$C$709:$C$730,$C$884:$C$905

And the range of sheet two is =$C$9:$C$30,$C$184:$C$205

The conditional formatting that i have applied to sheet one works fine, in that i can see if i have duplicates in any of the coloumn ranges.
Is there a way to add the sheet two criteria so that it can highllight a cell in the sheet two ranges based on if it occurs in the sheet one range.

If anyone could help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
I Hope this makes sense but if not please let me know if i can clarify any of my descriptions.

Thanks Gordon

Re: Conditional Formatting

As far as I'm aware, conditional formatting does not work across multiple sheets.

Doesn't mean it cannot be done, just means it cannot be done as simply as adding to your already working conditional formatting rules.

Re: Conditional Formatting

perhaps if you add a helper cell on the 2nd sheet, and then use that as a reference to decide on how to set up your CF on the 2nd sheet?

if you upload a sample, i will be able to help more
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Conditional Formatting

Hi Gordon and welcome to the forum.

As general, Conditional Formatting, does not works with data from different Sheet..

There are solutions for this, like... Create a helper(hidden column) in one sheet, as mirror of a column in other sheet..

Another way is Named ranges..

For more suggestions(at least me) need a small sample workbook.
Regards

Fotis.
