Conditional Formatting... Delete info in one cell, change the formating of multiple others

    Hello all,

So, as per the attached sheet.

When I delete the information in columns H to I they go blank. When one of them goes blank I want another releated cell to be greyed out.

So for example. When I3 (headed as system 3) is deleted, I want cells C3, A3, and K3 to turn grey.

    Is that doable?

    Just set the conditional formatting on C, A & K to grey when I = ""

Unless you want C, A & K to grey when either I or H are blank....?

Sorry to be an idiot... but where would I enter that information?

What option would I choose in the conditional formatting drop down box in excel 2007?

Sorry, I assumed because you had conditional formatting in H & I that you knew how to do it.

Do you want C, A & K to grey out when BOTH H & I are blank or when either/or are blank?

Highlight the cells in row 3 you wish to grey out when I3 is blank.
Select "Conditional Formatting / New Rule / Use Formula to Determine...."

Then enter =$I3="" and chose the grey formatting.

Click OK to get back to the worksheet and give it a try.
If it works then use for past formatting tool (like a paintbrush) to paste the conditional formatting down to subsequent rows.

(Done in the attachment for ease of reference)
