    Paste Functions

I recently had Excel 2007 installed. But I find that when I copy a formula from one cell to another , only absolute values are copied. Besides I also find that all buttons are disabled except "paste" and "Paste special' . Is something wrong with the installation? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Excel 2007?
