Hi - have you tried R - click on sheet tab - move or copy - check box create copy

Hi Jeetu,
Try as suggested by Russell...
Alternatively, you can copy - paste special -format as well.. but do you getting this option at all ?

Russell and dilip sir,
I got the option copy/move by R-click on the sheet, and able to do the same
but my problem is: when I copy some rows/cells and paste in new sheet, the copies content is pasted there without the formatting as of source, i.e. no font colour, no border, not the indent of source etc.
Please help.
Hi there
You don't need to copy and paste if I understood correctly. Is there more data that you need to paste into a "new" sheet?
It may be helpful if you could upload a copy of your workbook if that is possible.
@ Russell,
Please find the enclosed file in which I tried to paste the table of sheet 'test-37' in 'sheet 1' and as you can see the content are pasted there without the source formatting (no border, no indent, no font colour etc.)
Hi,
Thanks for sending the file. My first solution works but to copy and paste into a new sheet and to retain formatting you need to select all the data by selecting all columns A to S rather than just the active data. Don't select A1 to S30. Hover the cursor over the A at the top of that column whilst left clicking and dragging across to column S.
I've done this and renamed the sheets to show the method taken in each case.
Regards
Russell
Hi Russell,
There must be any problem in my Excel setting as when I copy and paste any data in my this PC I encounter the problem as primarily discussed in this thread but I am able to paste the source formatting of any data copied (whether it is full sheet or some columns or some rows or some cells) in the PC of my office.
Earlier, here too, in this PC, I was able to do the same but I don't know what happened now.
Pls help.
Hi, Have you tried the suggestion by Dilipandey?
Try this.
Create a blank sheet.
Copy the data from A1 to S30 from Test-37.
Go to A1 in new sheet and right click - paste special - select - Formats - OK - right click - paste special - column widths - Ok - right click - paste.
I was not aware that this procedure could be done like this but see how you go.
Edit - I think I can see what you are doing. Are you pasting using radio button in paste special "Values and number formats"? If so that is what has created the example on Sheet1.

@ Dilip Ji,
I'm not getting option of 'format' in paste special window.
Paste Special pop-up window has only these options:
paste as (1) unicode text and (2) text
One another option is there: paste link, but this is inactive.
what to do now, even when i try to paste the data after cutting the same, I face the same problem.. i.e. the data is pasted there without formatting irrespective of whether I paste data in same sheet or in other sheet.
