Counting like results from a logsheet

    Greetings All,

I need help with tabulating like results from a logsheet I am using. Attached is a sample workbook. The "log sheet" is feed by a merge template I am using. It is used to collect data over the course of a month. I need to have select data from that sheet, auto tabulate and present on a second sheet, as listed on "Summery Sheet" I have been looking through the forum, but the deeper I get, the more confused I become. There appears to be many avenues to take to accomplish this task. Unfortunately, my understanding of Excel is very limited. Any help is appreciated. Help with a some explanation even more so.

    Thank you,

    Patrick

    In B2:

    =COUNTIF('Log sheet'!F:F,A2)

    copied down

    in E2:

    =COUNTIF('Log sheet'!J:J,"*"&D2&"*")

    copied down

Re: Counting like results from a logsheet

Thank you NBVC. The formulas did the trick. I am however having problems with getting the Text (Doctors and Modatlities) to copy over to the 2nd sheet. I tried using advanced filters with unique record checked. I had limited success with this. Any ideas on getting the unique text to transfer over like illustrated in my summery sheet example? Ideally, the data would update with each new entry on the log sheet.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

You have to start on your Summery sheet. So go to A1 on Summery sheet, select Advanced Filter, then click on the icon to the right of the List Range field, and select the appropriate column from the Log Sheet.... then Select copy to another location and enter the cell you want to copy to in your Summery sheet, then check Unique Records Only and click Ok.
