    Conditional Formatting not saving

I am currently using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010.

I am setting up conditional formatting based on the value of a cell equaling a value in another worksheet (contained in the same workbook) and these rules are not saving.

I have other conditional formatting that is NOT linked to another sheet and these rules will save.

What is going on?? What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks
    Michelle

    Re: Conditional Formatting not saving

hi michelle, u cannot have conditional formatting referring to another worksheet. if u are in Sheet2 & need something in Sheet1 to lookup, the workaround is to formulate something like this in Sheet2:
    =Sheet1!A1

then u can use the conditional formatting based on Sheet2. The other way is to name the range for Sheet1

try uploading a sample file for us if it doesnt work

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
