    Duplicates entry

    Hello,

    Hope someone can help.
    I have a list in column C and what i wanted was any entry with duplicated "rec" can be coloured red.
    Example in list rec 09871 is in the list twice so the second one on row 11
    should turn red so it stands out and can be picked up.

    Please see attached.Thanks for any help.

    Re: Duplicates entry

    Hi MdShotgun,

    See the attached file where I have used the below conditional formatting logic:-

    =COUNTIF($C$4:$C4,$C4)>=2

    Duplicates.xlsx

    Re: Duplicates entry

    Conditional Formatting > Highlight cell values > duplicate cells > pick your color choices from the dropbox

    This will highlight all cells that are duplicates; you want the first value excluded, which isn't quite the same, but this is fast and easy. I'm not sure how you'd tell excel to exclude one of the duplicates. Not saying it's impossible, just that off hand I don't know.

    Re: Duplicates entry

    Hi ben_hensel,

    =COUNTIF($C$4:$C4,$C4)>=2

    It is checking while dragged down - the range has the selected value more than one i.e., two or more

    Re: Duplicates entry

    Hello DILIPandey,

    Thanks for the effort,but this way turns all entries red.
    I just wanted anything duplicated with "rec" before it.
    I have reattached the sheet again with an example of what should turn red.

    Thanks again.
